The town of Rutland is a beautiful residential hill town located in Worcester County. Rutland is the geographical center of Massachusetts, with the general spot famously marked by a tree called the Central Tree. The town was settled in 1686 and incorporated in 1713. The Town sponsors a multi-day Fourth of July festival each year, featuring a parade, live music, food, fireworks, and other activities.
